I am 25 years old, grew up in Portsmouth and this is my first year with GSTC.  I became interested in triathlons in October 2008 in Australia when I participated with my work in a corporate teams triathlon.  It was a blast! I saw people that were doing the whole course and, being as competitive as I am, had to do one for myself.  My first triathlon was the Black Fly Tri on July 12 of this year and my modified mountain bike and I did splendidly:)  I am currently signed up for the Pumpkinman sprint in September and am contemplating training for a Half-Ironman at the end of next summer if only to put a sticker on my future car that says "70.3"

My first passion is travelling and I have lived all over the world including 5 U.S. states, England for 4 months and Australia for 3 years where I graduated with my Bachelor's in Marine Biology and Zoology.  I am currently taking a course to become a certified animal trainer (my ultimate goal) and studying for the GRE's to get my masters at UNH starting in Fall 2010.  I am currently employed at Margarita's restaurant in Portsmouth and the Common Man Restaurant (opening in Portsmouth the first week of August) as these afford me the flexibility that I want to be able to travel and they also give me a much better income than an entry-level job in Marine Biology.  I am going backpacking for 4 weeks in Asia in October and can't wait!!
